As with the Facebook thing, I don't mind that people can post to my "timeline", but I had thought that area was mine as there is a "news feed" where other posts show up. I remember (and sometimes prefer) the www before it became a commercial enterprise. As for the spam, well, I'll refrain from further expression of my feelings in the name of civility. But it is still a bit much to wade through to get to the good parts - which are certainly there. A couple years ago, there was an article in the newspaper about a National Unplug Day, where everyone was encouraged to get out in the world and smell the proverbial roses. The funny part? I have flatly refused FaceBook/Twitter/Pinterest...gave up Google+....the pop up ads are a bother indeed. Once I looked for real estate in our area and got pop ups for real estate in our area for months after. So far I am lucky with the email spam...maybe only ten or so a day but it's early times yes?
